March, 2009

Sullivan County transferred ownership
of the building that was once
St. Mary's Mission Church
to Hurleyville-Sullivan First.

We began to clear the grounds around the church.


April, 2009

We received a Category B Phase 1 Grant
at the Sullivan Renaissance Spring Forum
on April 16th.

We opened the front doors of St. Mary's.
We moved museum artifacts
next door to the Sullivan County Museum.
The entrance to the basement was opened.

We've started to get the planting beds
at the community gateway ready for planting.

The Sullivan County Legislature presented a
proclamation to Hurleyville-Sullivan First
marking the transfer
of the former St. Mary's Mission Church
from the Sullivan County Historical Society
to Hurleyville-Sullivan First.

Hurleyville-Sullivan First,
the Frederick A. Cook Society and
the Sullivan County Historical Society
hosted a mural dedication
at the Sullivan County Museum and
a ribbon-cutting ceremony
at the former St. Mary's Mission Church.



May, 2009

The 4th Annual
"Bowling for Flowers"
Bowl-a-Thon

We planted the barrels
along Main Street.



June, 2009

The sidewalk project began
on Main Street.

We sent an annual update
on our projects to
everyone in Hurleyville.



July, 2009

Evergreen Landscape Design began work
on the wall and planter at Chick's Express.

We started planting at Frankie & Johnny's.

The planting at the Community Gateway
was completed.

We posed at our projects
for photos for the Sullivan County Democrat.

Stones were delivered for the
planting bed at St. Mary's.

Hurleyville-Sullivan First
and
the Sullivan County Historical Society
hosted an art auction and wine-tasting party
at the Sullivan County Museum.

Work continued on the
planting bed at St. Mary's
and at the project at Chick's Express.

The planting at Frankie & Johnny's was completed.
The new planter at Chick's Express
was prepared for planting.
We moved barrels of flowers to their place
at Chick's Express.

August, 2009

We continued to spruce up
in preparation for the visit
by judges from Sullivan Renaissance.

Judges from Sullivan Renaissance
visited Hurleyville.

Members of Hurleyville-Sullivan First
and the Hurleyville Fire Department
joined members of the
Sullivan County Historical Society
to welcome the judges from Sullivan Renaissance
to the project at the Sullivan County Museum.
